uh-oh, here we go again in Maryland

No rest for the weary

The Court of Appeals, Maryland's highest court, has agreed to bypass a mid level appeals court and take up a challenge to a Baltimore judge's ruling that declared the state law banning same-sex unions is unconstitutional.

"We would like to seek justice for these [same-sex] families served earlier rather than later," Equality Maryland's Executive Director Dan Furmansky told 365Gay.com.

The high court has already issued a number of rulings that were positive for same-sex couples in areas such as adoption and Furmansky said he is cautiously optimistic.

I'm glad HE'S cautiously optimistic. Lately, I've become cautiously pessimistic. I hope they prove me wrong. The Washington ruling was tough. Speaking of which...

Rep. Ed Murray (D-Seattle) is going to introduce a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in Washington. Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire indicated she would sign a marriage bill if it passed the legislature. A BIG "if" considering the Republican opposition.

Get ready for some more asshattery.
