Uruguay is joining the small but growing ranks of countries offering either full marriage benefits or some form of civil unions to gay couples. This will the first country in South America to offer civil unions and Chile may be up next.
What a joy to sit here, in America, and watch other countries march ahead of us on such a basic civil rights issue. Shameful.
