So we're sitting at home on Saturday night watching a Lawrence Welk documentary as part of a PBS fund raiser, and we saw a couple in the show singing this song.
txrad asked me who originally did it. I said "Debbie Gibson?"
He shook his head. No.
I knew I was close.
So I had to come searching. It's Debby Boone. Debbie Gibson came along awhile later.
So, fess up. Who watched the Lawrence Welk show as children with your parents? I know I did. They came through Little Rock once with a stage show and we went to see them. Afterwards we went out to dinner and some of the members of the orchestra were also there. I got Joe Feeney’s autograph.
