Pissed Off Cabbie has a photo post called "Special Olympics of Driving." Not very "PC" but there are funny shots of awkward situations and we all hope these people will stay the hell away from us on the road.
Several items relevant to the gay communinity in the news today as well:
It seems a lot of gay couples in northern Virginia are packing up and moving to DC or Maryland ahead of an amendment to the Virginia state constitution that would ban same-sex marriage, civil unions and possibly be used to void domestic partner benefits.
One same-sex couple, Beth Lower and Kati Towle, said they chose to move out of Arlington when Towle became pregnant and a lawyer told them not to have the child in Virginia.
At least they don't have far to move. Pity us folks in Texas and elsewhere, surrounded by oceans of red voters. It would be a LONG move for us.
Pam’s House Blend has great commentary on this topic with additional links as well.
Over across the big pond, a German court ruled on Monday that an Iranian lesbian cannot be deported because she risks a death sentence based on her sexuality.
And this tidbid would be funny IF it weren't so damned sad. It's so hot in Iraq, a soldier thought he saw a Wal-Mart off in the distant desert. That's not my ideal mirage, but under those conditions I suppose you take what you can get.
125 degrees is not uncommon in areas of Iraq, with temps at night still hovering above 100. Tomorrow's forecast in Baghdad is for a high of 117. Ick.
