Friday Pussy Blog: Friday the 13th - Part II Edition

Another memorable Friday the 13th! We had one in January and I got laid off that day. On this one I forked over $8,800 to the IRS. At least the latter scenario makes me feel good: I'm doing my part to fund the war machine! Perhaps I paid for some body armor...or a toilet seat perhaps. That's a better use of my money than some frivolous first-class vacation in Europe for a month, right? Am I right?

Anyway, let's get down to some feline business. That's why we're here.

Friday Pussy Blog: Small Cat Traps Edition

This has been a busy and frustrating week.

Plenty of boxes from amazon arrived this week. However all but one are too small to serve as cat traps. I believe the kittehs are a bit disappointed that I didn't order bigger stuff!

I do not like the sloppy appearance of this post. I've been trying out the Safari browser and either something isn't set correctly or it does not allow me to center photos on the blog. Consequently, the text appears off-center.

Guess I'll switch back to Firefox for the next post.

Friday Pussy Blog: Auto-Incorrect Edition

I've used Microsoft Office Picture Manager for years to crop and resize my photos before posting them to my blog. I like it because it's simple and doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles to complicate things.

Now suddenly when I save a photo after resizing, it has decided to apply Auto-Correct to the color which changes the tones to some god-awful unnatural shit, and I cannot figure out how to turn this off! As I said, it's not a complicated piece of software.

That being said, here we go with the Friday Pussy Blog. I've tried to manually restore them to the originals as much as possible.

Friday Pussy Blog: Painted Tot Edition

This has been a busy week! I decided to paint the kitchen after mulling over various paint samples for months. (A separate blog post with photos is forthcoming shortly.)

The area around the windows is inset about 5 or 6 inches and I decided to paint that area that frames the windows a slightly lighter shade. The Tot was sitting on the window ledge as I painted down the left side. As I started painting the right side he decided he wanted none of that so he started backing up.

"Don't back up, boy!" I shouted.

Oops. The poor boy got a dusting of paint on his butt.

A wet towel got him nicely cleaned up and all is forgiven.

It's a beautiful Friday with abundant sunshine streaming through the windows and rather warm temps. It's almost too warm for outside work.

Friday Pussy Blog: En Route to Food Bowl Edition

It seems like this is getting redundant.

He's on his way.

She's on her way!

There's just one problem: It's not time to feed yet. They are still on daylight savings time and in another month they'll be correct.

Hope your Friday is grand. I spent about 5 hours trying to get a piece of particularly nasty computer virus eradicated, and then went shopping for a coffeemaker after ours stopped working this morning. Also checked out dishwashers after ours stopped working a week ago today -- for the 2nd time in a month.

Never a dull moment when you're unemployed and trying to stretch those dollars as far as possible.

Suffice it to say I'm overdue for a long blog rant...

Friday Pussy Blog: Unemployed and Still Late Edition

Gee, you'd think with me being jobless I could get this posted earlier in the day on Friday, right?

I would like to say I was busy vacuuming under the bed but that is clearly not the case. Having seen this photo I will make time to do that soon. Sissy has been isolated in the bedroom for over a week now. She has her own litter box, food and water bowls. She seems happier without the constant torment from Tater Tot and Jessie Lee, and the house is certainly quieter without her frequent howling because they tried to touch her, or simply looked at her as if they might.

Jessie Lee is ready for me to go through that open door and fetch her some chow.

The Tot is also ready.

It's feeding time!

My girl loves Sheldon's office chair. We have this ongoing ritual where Sheldon gets up and she gets in it. Then I have to move her when Sheldon returns. (Sheldon, for some very odd reason, thinks she's unclean and he'd have to wash his hands after moving her.)

This scenario plays out 4-5 times daily.

It must be feeding time because the frenzy is in the kitchen. I was headed in there and Tot & Jessie Lee were running ahead of me. The Tot popped Jessie Lee on the butt as I snapped this picture!

This week has been bizarre. I had a vacation day on Monday, then took a sick day on Tuesday. Wednesday was one of the worst days I've ever had at work. Thursday was the exact opposite.

I thought today would be mellow but at the end of the day I had just finished a project that took 90 minutes and then was told I was given incorrect information. Monday morning is already shaping up to be a dandy one as I begin to correct what I spent the afternoon doing. Joy.

Oh well...

Friday Pussy Blog: Cork Toy Edition

The best cat toys are not the ones you go out and buy.

Jessie Lee may appear relaxed but she's merely plotting.

She wants that cork disk! The one I put my coffee on every morning! She has spent much of the day grabbing it and slinging it under my computer keyboard, and then nearly pushes the keyboard in my lap trying to reach under there to grab it again.

The most hilarious thing is when she grabs it in her mouth and walks off with it. Where I come from that's called stealing.



I know I'd catch all kinds of hell if I don't get some of the other kitties on here.

After skipping a week, the Friday Pussy Blog is back! I can't promise for how long. Work has proven to suck all my life out during the week and by Friday I usually have to force myself to do this. However today was a pretty good day.

I'm not sure what the future holds for this blog. I need to do a major revamping of it, and get the commenting system replaced. I may work on that over the weekend. Seems like life is so much easier with Facebook. Photos go straight from the phone. No screwing around with Photobucket or editing. And I rather enjoy the simpler life after a hectic week.
