The art of shoving God down your throat

Here's a doozy from the "I'm-too-stupid-to-think-for-myself-so-brainwash-me" department.

Donald Wildmon of the Tupelo-based American Family Association is now pushing to have In God We Trust posters put in every classroom.

American Family Association has launched a national campaign to place before our children a copy of the official motto of the United States. It is our hope that this poster will be a reminder of the historical centrality of God in the life of our theocracy republic.

In a time when many are working to remove any acknowledgement of God from our public life, these words are legally sound, since they were officially adopted by Congress in 1956.

Oh yeah 1956 was such a very good year. The era of American enlightenment if I recall.

01/30/1956 - Martin Luther King Jr's home bombed
02/06/1956 - U of Alabama refuses admission to Autherine Lucy (because he's black)
04/23/1956 - US Supreme court ends race segregation on buses
05/02/1956 - US Methodist church disallows race separation
07/21/1956 - US performs atmospheric nuclear Test at Enwetak
07/30/1956 - US motto "In God We Trust" authorized
08/30/1956 - White mob prevents enrollment of blacks at Mansfield HS, Texas
