Sending positive thoughts to Lebanon

Growing up, I always wanted to visit Europe. Finally, in March 1978, just a month prior to my 18th birthday, my parents agreed to let me travel on a 9-day "Holy Land" tour sponsored by a Methodist church and guided by the minister. It wasn't Europe, and I wasn't going to have a lot of personal freedom, but it was so exciting!

On the flight over to Amman, Jordan we had a long layover in Beirut, Lebanon and I purchased this blanket from a vendor in the Beirut airport. I wanted to share the picture of this beautiful piece of craftsmanship as we remember and mourn the death of innocent civilians, especially the children killed yesterday in Qana.

So much for the idea of a ceasefire.
